SOCIAL STATUS
In "The Outsiders" most of the kids, such as Johnny, had an appalling life at home. Not to mention these kids were often beat and verbally abused. Also, their parents didn't care one bit about them: not caring when they came home, where they were hanging out, if they were dead or alive. On the other hand, there were some that did not have parents at all and were raised by older brothers and sisters. The Greasers' home life is what brought them to who they became. Now the "Socs" became who they were because of their home life as well. Most would think that they had no reason to become bad, but they did not get much attention from their parents. Their parents were rich, busy and gave them what they wanted to make them happy (so they thought). The Socs' weren't really grounded for the things that they did, which often left them wanting more attention, just like Bob.
