While the Greaser's emotions ran high and in the open, the Socs' emotions were kept inside and out of the public view. The Greasers thought that the Socs had such a better life until they realized that they held every emotion inside, unlike themselves. One of the Socials, Cherry, even states in the book, "You greasers have a different set of values. You're more emotional. We're sophisticated-cool to the point of not feeling anything. Nothing is real with us." This just proves that they were emotionally different.
